 | leobelchetz As featured on www.plasticsoup.com Various Artists House Invaderz 1 [HY:BR] HY:BR is the bastard love child of fab Frenchmen Fafa Monteco and David Duriez. Their respective record labels, Hypnotic and Brique Rouge have joined forces and their first release brings together a range of artists, who provide tracks all sampling 1980s video game noises. Of course, with such source material you expect to get a heavy electronic emphasis, but in fact the tracks where the samples are at their most recognisable and fun are the housier tracks - step forward the groovy Invaderzs Crazy Funk and the acidic Nine Tendos, from Sam Karlson & Gaffy and Chris Carrier & DJ Wild respectively. Alexkid & Chloes trippy Afterblaster is too dark for my liking, but with its brain-twisting breakdown followed by its bowel-melting bassline, its guaranteed a reaction in the right club.
