Label boss Fafa Monteco opens proceedings with ‘Bleepnotize’, a tough, glitchy acid house track, which will do the business in the clubs without remaining too long in the memory. The 303 remains the focal point on A Jackin’ Phreak’s ‘Pong Jacks’. 80s video game samples (which are the running theme in the ‘House Invaderz’ series) and a farting bassline break things up, but the standout feature here for me is the shuffling breakbeat that lies underneath. ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’ for a new generation.
